Project Description:    

A substantial renovation of a 2No bedroom apartment at Eaton Place, Belgravia SW1X. Stakeholder consent (Grosvenor, Head Lessee by way of a Licence to Alter) was obtained for the reconfiguration of the internal layout creating an enlarged Kitchen/ Living & Dining Area and extended Family Bathroom. Fire rated Crittall doors where imposed to maximise the natural daylight into the Entrance Hallway whilst the careful continuation of the timber floor finish through these areas enhances the sense of space upon entrance and within the habitable areas. Additional Information

The design balanced the necessity to implement a high quality home renovation whilst referencing the inherent qualities of the post war building and embracing its south facing orientation. The original property was cellularised with a self-contained Galley Kitchen, 2No modest Bathrooms and a land- locked Hallway. The response was to created a blurred threshold between the Hallway and new, open plan Kitchen/ Living & Dining area both to enhance the entrance scenario by providing natural daylight to the Hallway but also to draw the eye into - or out of - the primary living areas.

There is a carefully considered blend of traditional and contemporary elements within the property. New dropped ceilings and decorative coving has been introduced to the 2No Bedrooms with more contemporary recessed perimeter light troughs added to the Hallway. This enlivens the textured timber slat wall whilst respecting the visible concrete structure in these areas.

Onsite Architectural & Contract Administration Services were also provided with our appointment including the specification and installation management of all Interior Design items.
